WTF is up with JB3 2.0?
The answer:
That SHIT is AMAZING! :happy OMFG! lol! I've had 1.4 for a couple of months and have been too lazy to beta test the 2.0. But I kept on reading and reading great reviews on 2.0 and about how smooth it was. I thought 1.4 was fine, but let me just say... WOW! I REALLY can't believe how smooth the car is. It's like I'm driving a NA car. I have the 6AT, with BMS DCI and the Borla cat-back exhaust and I'm running on map 7 (93 octane) and that SHIT is rediculously fast. It might be a placebo effect, but I'm pretty sure it's a lot faster than when I was on 1.4. I was testing out the car on the highway in manual mode. I was in 6th gear (around 60 mph) and then I smashed the pedal to the metal and it downshifted to 3rd gear instantly and just took off with no lag, before I knew it, it was up to 130mph (speed limiter ), literally in seconds. I couldn't believe how fast my car was going. Kind of scared me. lol! And I am not exaggerating either. If anybody in NYC/NJ would like to take a ride in my car, they are welcome to. All I have to say is, props to Terry for all the work that he has done with the JB3. Too bad, my laptop is a heavy ass Dell, or else I would've done some data logging. I'm going to look on the internet for a good/cheap netbook, so I can use the BT tool and do data logging, without having a large ass laptop. As far as customer service goes. Terry is top notch. I ordered the BT tool and USB cable from Terry on Wednesday and it showed up on my door step this afternoon. I hurried up and installed it and then went for a test drive. Like everyone has said, if you have not done so, you should definitely contact Terry and ask to beta test the 2.0. You WILL NOT regret it. And anytime I had a question, I would send an e-mail to Terry and he would literally, reply in minutes. Just AWESOME customer service. Oh and no codes, limp mode or CEL. (knock on wood). And I ran the 2/1 firmware. Hopefully, it won't snow tonight, so I can have some more fun testing out the 2.0.

I just got mine installed and updated to 2/3... and now its raining!
Cant even really test it out. BTW, Terry has a 2/4 update over at his forum if you didn't know. Check it out. It's identical to 2/3 unless your above some certain elevation (I forgot exactly), so I didn't update. Now for this socal rain to end... |

Just replace your old chip with the new one, wire the cable to your liking, and you're done. This will be the last chip you need too since you can now update with the cable and software. But I believe a BT cable is required to get into the beta at this point. |

Easy. If you want, I can help you burn the 2.0 chip. What part of Jersey are you from? But you definitely will need to order the BT tool, just in case any codes are thrown. It's better safe than sorry. If you need any help, just let me know.

Look on the other site under my thoughts on 2.0 at 11:45 yesterday posted by Terry.
Basically he said "if you can believe it, there is even more to look forward to."

Do you feel any lag during normal driving (in D)? I have JB+ and I still feel the lag during low rpm (when it's below 2500K). I really love the low rpm torque from my friend's V8 AMG....

JB+ drives rough. If you want more power and smoother driving get the JB3.

If I were you, I would definitely upgrade to JB3 2.0. Quote:
As far as other mods, like DP, intercooler, oil cooler, meth and whatever else there is for the N54, I'll have to wait and see. I really want to keep this car, but the wife wants a new car. So, if I'm getting a new car, it's either going to be the 335is or the M3. I'll know by April.
