Do I need TPMS if I get non run-flats?

Hi,

Do I need new TPMS if I get non run flats for my style 189 wheels? Sorry for the newbie questions, but I also heard run flat tires uses special RFT rims, would I have any trouble running regular tires on the 189s?

You would still need TPMS sensors fitted to avoid the car throwing a warning everytime you start. If you can live with this you technically wouldn't need to have the sensors fitted, but I'm sure it would be quite annoying!

All OEM wheels will accept either RFT or regular tires. It's a myth that our RFTs require special rims. I'm switching to regular tires this spring and am looking forward to the ride improvement I've heard so much about.

I believe all the sensors are the same.

Also, if you reuse your sensors, you might want to invest in 4 new valve stems. I believe you need to buy new ones everytime you re-mount the tires. I got 4 for $20 from bavarianx.
