My 335i has I think developed a strange noise and wondered if one of you could do the following to their 335i auto and tell me "if they all do that"...

Put the car in Manual mode - get into 5th gear at 1500- 1600 revs, accelerate normally (1/4 to 1/2 throttle).

My car makes a grinding sound that disappears at 2000 revs. Noticeably louder when cold. Also makes same noise (but quieter) in 4th....

Car been into dealers, topped up gearbox oil, made no difference...car has been checked top to bottom for things rubbing that shouldn't

if anyone can do the same in their car and tell me the result I would appreciate it
