Bands that shred
Looking for some new tunes to rock out to at work.. good guitar shredding.
Iron Maiden, The Who, White Stripes, RHCP, GnR, etc. I am not looking for heavy metal like Children of Bodom!! I'm looking for CLEAN riffs and NO screamo voices. Suggestions? Last edited by Derek Zoolander; 02-12-2010 at 10:31 AM.. |

So the White Stripes is the most current music in your portfolio? Also, The White Stripes make the John Mayer sound like Slayer.

Yeah, I'm not looking for like crazy metal. I like clean verses with sick solos.
Avenged Sevenfold is good, but I'm not looking for anything crazier than them. |

Not the genre you're looking for, but definitely some of the best of all time:
Eric Clapton Joe Satriani Jimi Hendrix Jimmy Page (Led Zep) SRV

What about something a little more current like Bullet For My Valentine or It Dies Today? Along the same lines as A7X would be Atreyu.
B4MV is definitely that guitar solo shredding music that works well for me at the gym.

Might not be what you're looking for but I like, Poison The Well, for some heavier stuff. |

Avenged sevenfolds first few cd's were sick but then they went too poppy for me. The Dead Weather, Jack White's new band, is rad and check out Every Time I Die. They've won a bunch of awards from music publications. Theyre a metal band who know not to get too serious and are all about fun. For Dead Weather get 'Treat Me Like You're Mother'. For ETID get Ebolorama, The New Black, and Werewolf. Also look into funeral for a friends first ep

OP, I think your definition of "shred" is different than most.
