When I was at the dealers the other day they hpi checked it and it came back clear I said I pay BMW pcp so they phoned BMW with my name and address and got a settlement and the dealer said BMW had the wrong number plate on record does this mean my finance doc is invalid

Had exactly this with an Exige I bought from a Lotus dealer. They had the wrong plate,so when Hpi'd my car came back clear.
Took a bit of sorting and was only noticed when I was selling it, fortunately to a dealer - had it been a private sale the buyer would probably have thought something fishy was going on. |
