Finance doc

When I was at the dealers the other day they hpi checked it and it came back clear I said I pay BMW pcp so they phoned BMW with my name and address and got a settlement and the dealer said BMW had the wrong number plate on record does this mean my finance doc is invalid

Does you finance paperwork have the correct reg no on it?

Had exactly this with an Exige I bought from a Lotus dealer. They had the wrong plate,so when Hpi'd my car came back clear.

Took a bit of sorting and was only noticed when I was selling it, fortunately to a dealer - had it been a private sale the buyer would probably have thought something fishy was going on.
