engine light is on and service engine is on

hi all,
i am running on 11.2 beta map and Rev1 V3, just wondering why my engine malfunction sign would appear if the car was turned on and idle for about 3-5 minutes. also, the malfunction sigh would go away if I restart the car, however, after several warning, it leaves a service engine soon on the dash board.

do i need to clear the code before i go to dealership? or can i take the unit out and pretend i dont know anything?

i am running on stage 1 map and do not have any mod so far.
any help is appreciated.
thanks

whats the codes its throwing? a usual suspect @ idle is misfires. Usually caused by bad plugs/coils/injectors.. Since its at idle i don't suspect the tune, but its possible as PROcede tunes have been known to cause misfires on several customer cars. But again, Its not likely given the limited amount of info your providing us

Take tune out of car
clear codes
take to dealer

No one can help you if you dont even know what codes are stored and your running a tune. I'm willing to bet it's tune related.

That's what I'd be worried about, maybe someone else can chime in?

I recommend buying a BT cable for any type of modification. #1 thing to get before you start, or in the process of tuning. We can't confirm the issue you have unless we see codes...I'm not sure if obo reader can clear codes. anyone know?

You need to scan the car, it could me a million things.

Posting threads like this without any information on codes is a waste of time.

oh yeah, do you guys ever take the JB or Procede or whatever out of the ECU box before you go to the dealer? would they ever open the box to check or simply do ECU scan?

please advise.

The best and most simple thing to do is:
1/ remove the proceed
2/ CLEAR the code
3/ run stock for a few days - if car runs funny - bring it to the dealer.
If the car runs fine without the proceed - your problem was tune related.

if tune related - It could have been a bad tune install, or a problem with the tune itself.
If your problem was during idle - my GUESS is it was a bad tune install.

Hope this helps. Btw u should by a BT scanner / code clearer for peace of mind.

how long have you had the plugs on? I would just change them and see how the car runs. No need to take it to the dealer for this.

I have those codes too, i don't worry about it. The other codes though, you have some issues, better take the tune out and see if it stays away.
