Driving up to Norcal
Hey guys, I am driving up to Hayward tonight after work. Since I will be doing some night driving from 8PM to 3AM. Do you guys know what is a safe speed to set the cruise control on the 5N? I am planning to do 80MPH.

i always slow down before the exits/entrances to the freeway and bridges. a lot of cops post there but overall, 80mph is good.

radar ain't gonna save you forever.. they have aircrafts and laser..
Will clock you way before any radar will go off Play it safe..drive 70 if there is no car around. 75-80 when there is someone speeding in front of you. Never go 80+ leading.. |

I frequently do the drive from oc to norcal and have found that 80 is fine. You're pretty safe going 90 on the section of I-5 after the tejon pass for about 50-80 miles. Someone told me that it's not patrolled frequently b/c it's a "gray" area where there's some issue with jurisdiction. (just rumor that I heard).
