Bumper Antenna for Phone???

Got the latest 3-series accessory catalog yesterday - noticed an odd entry.

In addition to the base plate that I bought (part xxx6063) and the snap-in adapter (part 8421xxx), the catalog states that a "bumper antenna" is REQUIRED. (part no. 84 11 1470 326)! I'm pretty sure my dealer didn't order or install anything of the sort - is this a misprint? I thought the snap-in arrangement used the shark fin???

Insights, anyone?

That does sound odd. Which snap-in adapter & phone are you using? I have them both for the Moto V55x series & RAZR, and neither requires this extra antenna.

T616. It definitely has a connector for the antenna in the snap-in. I am just wondering now if that's actually attached to anything...

The SIA uses the external aerial.

If you were to plug it in and it were not attached to anything, your reception would more or less disappear.

Hmmm... then why does the accessory catalog indicate the "bumper antenna" as required equipment?
