Can I order enhanced premium audio (752) as a part?

Does BMW sell the enhanced premium audio system (option 752) as a "part"? I want to upgrade my base audio system using purely OEM parts, and enhanced premium audio is the best OEM system there is. I suspect the default answer is no, but I also suspect a workaround is possible. Please let me know! Thanks.

Yes, you can order all the parts for option 752 as you can order all OEM parts that you will like. There will be two issues, and a possible third:

- wiring harness is completely different from the base audio, so you will need to order a new OEM audio harness complete.

- coding the OEM amp will only be done at an Autologic shop as an USA BMW dealer will not be able to do it.

- option 752 seems to be only applicable to iDrive systems, not to the OEM Professional HU. In other words, if your car does not have iDrive then option 752 may not be retrofitted as the software/coding will be incompatible.

Regardless, by the time you finish this project you may have spent some $4000+ (the OEM amp alone is $1200) in parts and labor in an OEM system that in reality does not sound that impressive as you think. I know, I have that system in my M3, and I mostly replaced it with aftermarket.

Upgrade to premium sound

TGB1974 -- Did you ever move ahead with this upgrade? I just drove a 2010 335d with the premium and am looking at upgrading my 2010 335i with it.

Technic -- is there a way to add a subwoofer and still control the stereo via the I-drive?

Thanks,
mrak
