At what mileage does the CBS start brake pad replacement count down? When the pads are replaced, does the CBS need to be reset?

It estimates the life at first, and then counts it down as the new multi stage sensor in the brakepad is worn down

The brake pad part of the CBS needs to be reset after pads are changed
