1st service 325d

My 08 325D M sport auto is due a service in 2000 miles , car has done 16000 overall.

I was wondering what damage my wallet should expect, i phoned the local dealer eastern bmw edinburgh and they told me that it could be anywhare in the region of £250-£350 as the sensors on the car detect what needs serviced. My car's an Auto if this helps. anyone got an idea?

Also wondered whare the cheapest place is to get the standard run flat 225 tyre's? I assume Bmw will charge a fortune for these.

My missus recons somethings wrong with the brakes as there is a slight delay when the pedal is pushed although i think its because it was raining heavy and this was just excess water on the disks. Also a bit of plastic keeps coming loose on the air intake between the fan and the engine block, makes the car sound terrible as it vibrates, tried pushing it back in with no luck.

Has anyone else had this problem?

My first service cost around £220 (will check when I get home) this was around at the 22k mark.

I've just had a second service done at 45k and this cost me £120 including the microfilter. I supplied 8lts of Castrol oil myself for this service. Was very pleased with this price. It was done at Sytner in Sutton Coldfield.

As for your air filter pipe, mines not 100% but it hasn't come off yet. I would mention this at the service but I suspect all they will do is push it back on.

Tyre wise try some of the internet tyre companies like camskill or mytyres. They will do a mobile fitting service too.

My first service was at 20k and was around the £250 mark from memory.

The Bridgestone 225/35R19 run flats are on back order currently with no date for availability.
I need the rears changing shortly as well so this may push me into getting a set of Contisport Contact 3s which might not be such a bad thing.
