Has anyone been able to mount this thing in the ashtray properly? It just won't go in all the way, and it doesn't feel like it wants to be forced either. Right now, the farthest it goes down is not flush, and when u pull a USB plug out of it, it pulls the unit out with it. |

I've had good luck with a Duracell one... it doesn't go completely flush, and the ashtray lid won't close with it in, but it fits snugly and does not come out when I yank the USB plug.

I have seen allot of reviews about it claiming that it is a tight fit. I don't have first hand experience with it but I have one coming in the mail. I'll let you know if i have a problem. My experience with these plugs is that they have to be pretty snug in order for them to not come loose during normal driving.

Interesting, looks like everyone uses it under the armrest. I already have my iPhone charger under there. It would have been nice to fit at the ashtray so that my GPS usage would be cleaner. Ah well!

I too use it under the armrest, but I ran a wire under the tunnel and use a panavise mount off the center console with a proclip device holder.
It works great and will hold my Iphone with cases. The only issue is the occasional long-legged passenger that can bump it a bit... The Iphone Holder http://www.proclipusa.com/brodit-dev...214-17528.aspx The Panavise Mount http://www.panavise.com/pdf_indash/75103-506.pdf |

I had it plugged into the ashtray for a little while and the top was able to close. However it was not flush with the rest of the tray, but it certainly wasn't an eyesore and did not interfere with the closing of the lid.

Ok so I just got this and the socket in my armrest area only works when the plug is in a certain way. Anyone else have this problem? Yes my ACC power is on.
