Vredstein Vs Conti Contact 3 Weight Issues
Hi Guys
I hope someone can help I'm definaltely going to go down the run flat route and was fairly sure about a set of Vredsteins due to the good write ups they are getting. But now i'm confused as I've been told that they are heavier than the Conti's and thus wouldn't handle as good as the conti's. Is this true, or am I just worrying over nothing with the Vreds. Thanks Taj ![]() |

Runflats are loads heavier than non runflats.
As for comparison between different non-runflats, I can't see any major difference as they are all made of similar stuff in a similar way. Personally I'd have though the conti3 may weigh a little less as its a stiffer more complex layered construction. But the conti's handle better than the vreds cos they are a better tyre, not due to weight IMO. |

Unfortunately you cant get Contis in the popular 265/30 rear fitment which ruled them out for me. Yves |

I had Vreds on my RS4, and I give them 10/10, awesome tyre wet and dry, nearly on a par with f1's, and really good value for money - Most of the tyre tests rate them highly also. Ive never got on with Conti's, always found them too hard. Michelins, are the RR of tyres, but you pay for it!
Each to their own eh?
