Exclamation PROcede Global Code Clearing Feature

Just something new that we are working on. Due to all the concern of non powertrain related codes and dealerships, we decided to add a clear function for all the modules that can possible log a code in the case of install/uninstalling a tune.

To test this feature, I misinstalled the Procede to the best of my ability. That means the subconnectors mated to the wrong patches, plugged in backwards, etc,. I ran a BT tool short test on all modules and I got this:

this is a good thing

Essentially your adding the "quick clear" function that is used on the GT1, and the currrent ICOMs

this is a good thing if you want to clear the fault memory of the diagnositic system of the car and turn out the warning lights. But i doubt it will have any effect on the information most people are looking to have sanitized.

then again, i could be totally off base ..

Can the procede read non powertrain related codes and display them on the laptop? If it could, then there will be no need for a BT tool all together. I'm personally interested because I bought my car and want to service it myself after the warranty runs out.

It would also end the debate for the JB3 guys that say a BT tool is a must even for procede users...

Do you want the Procede to be able to read and display non-powertrain related codes just like it does powertrain related codes? Or just clear them? Either way is do-able. I'm just not sure how useful it is to read those codes. Although I guess it would be useful to know if you have some problem elsewhere in your car

Shiv,

I say make it read and clear ANY codes it can. If you can make the procede end up being essentially equivalent to a BT cable.. well let's just leave it to everyone's imagination what that would mean.

If you decide to include all codes I think non-powertrain codes should show up on a separate channel so that you can ignore them in some cases. I have a few non-powertrain codes that never go away and they don't seem to cause any issues that I know of.

Sorry Shiv, I haven't purchased the Procede yet; I'm just holding off until I finish paying off my car. So, I don't know how exactly the Procede displays on the laptop.

However, I think displaying the non-powertrain related codes would be awesome. It basically makes the Procede have a built in BT Scanner, but it would be superior in that it is able to datalog more efficiently.

So, whatever way it's easier to implement this, I think this would be another thing that people would strongly consider when they get a tune.

And, one of the main arguments for the JB3 vs the Procede is the price point. I don't feel you have to justify anymore the differences of value (to me anyways), but it wouldn't hurt to add this as an extra feature. With your ability to display boost and the ability to display and read ALL codes, you in essence save the consumer from buying a boost gauge and the BT Scanner, things that people have to purchase with other tunes.

This will only clear fault codes. For those of you worried about speed limiter data etc, it will not clear that afaik. The same with other things like over rev and general data/logistics.

The features just keeps adding up that you could potentially sell a separate unit for all the features minus the tune. Think of the flash community =D.

Feature after feature. You're like the Diddy of the e90 tunes.

I would not be interested in this feature, but I may be biased as I bought a BT cable the week they were released
