My proposed spec...

...is

BMW 335 D M SPORT
Alpine White
Red/Brown Dakota Leather
Fine brushed aluminium trim
Visibility pack
Media pack professional
Harmon Kardon Surround
Exterior folding Mirrors
Sun Protect glass
Windscreen with grey shade band
Electric sunroof
Sliding Armrest
Lumber support
Seat Heating
USB Interface
Model designation deletion

I was originally looking at the 330d and 335D, but after working the finance out on both it will cost me only £8 per month more to have the 335D - No brainer!!

Any comments on the spec ?

Nice Spec! Love white with red leather

Have you considered:

Folding rear seats, can come in quite handy from time to time?
Front Parking sensors?

Hi-beam assist is a lovely feature if it isn't part of the visibility pack ,don't think its too expensive.

Also my 335d has comfort access which is great, just walk up to the car with key in pocket, open the door and push the start button. Not sure of cost on this one.

Front parking sensors also useful.

Comfort Access - I'll second that.

A must have on all future vehicles for me.

Personally, I think it's a bit of a gimmick. I've tried using it a few times but whereas I would anticipate the on-coming vehicle and dim the lights, the hi-beam assist waits until you've actually begun to blind them before dimming the lights.

+1 on the front parking sensors though.

Neither here nor there with comfort access for me. Don't think I'll miss it on my new one.

Nice spec Oli! I presume that bluetooth is on the pro media pack? What's the lead time on the E90?

Not interested in front sensors, neither me nor the wife have any trouble parking! Comfort access, is of no interest to me either, and I may consider the split folding rear seats, but most of the time their will be kids in them, and if I have something big to pick up I will take one of my vans

Leadtime is 6-8 weeks

The only thing Im not sure on is the white, but it looked great on my S3!

The debate on comfort access is moot now anyway. It has been dropped from the list of options (on E92s anyway).

If it's an E90 (you've not stated) you've got to spec folding rear seats. Yes you'll only occassionally use it but my god it's useful when you do; only cost a couple of hundred quid I think.

If you've got kids on board (depends on the age) but the window blinds are a really nice addition. Had the electric rear one on my 335i but to be honest could never really see it's effectiveness (was quite funky though) - I'd say side ones are much more useful but maybe a bit lavish.

I thought the front parking sensors were great whether you can park or not. Just enables you to really tuck up and keep the back-end out of the way (especially if you're 'creating' a space!!!)

I would consider wing mirrors that dim too. I don't have them on mine and when I get some knob with an aftermarket HID kit behind me I really miss them.

God choice on the lumbar support too, I don't have this and wish I did sometimes.

That sounds bloody lovely

If you're not sure about white (I love it) consider space grey, I saw one the other day with sun protection glass and it looked fantastic

Thanks Roger, not sure on the split rear seats, as I will never use them, and its £300 or so, and added to the other bits I 'might' occaisionaly use, it all adds up, the rear blinds though will probably be added. Front PDC - No thanks!

Again, a nice feature, but it all adds up and I can do without this, and if I get a boy racer up my ass, they will get dealt with accordingly........

That is my 2nd choice colour, with the same leather, or black with the oyster leather - I plan on this being a keeper (haha), and I dont want the white to look dated, which I dont think it will be, as it is becoming more and more popular every day.

Thats a very nice spec mate, the Alpine White with Red/Brown is a nice colour combo too

You have picked the best options and the ones i would definately go for if i was buying new. Things like DAB, Font Parking Sensors, Folding Seats, Blinds etc are nice options to have, but no point in ordering them when they wont be used as much.

I'm not 100% convinced about white if I you don't mind me saying.

White is a very vogue for the time being but I fear that it will start to become old hat/dated soon. I admit it looks great and even more so during the summer months where it stands out even more due to the increased light levels but I'm not sure how much longevity the "look" has.

Just my opinion and I mean no offence.

That's exactly what people said when I ordered my Ibis White S3 two years ago, but I know what you mean about White, but it's in it's fifth year already, so is here to stay! It was first seen on the Golf GTI.

Still not sure myself, but everyone I see a White car I love it!
