iphone with e9x
anyone use the iphone bluetooth with their bimmer? Lately I'm seeing an issues with either the iphone or the bimmer's bluetooth.
1) sometime it just won't connect. You turn it off and then on and still won't connect. 2) when connected and you get a call, it shows up that you picked up the call but there's no sound and you can't speak to the person. You need to pick up your iphone and use that instead and when you hang up on the iphone the car still shows that you're still in the call. You have to hit the menu button on the idrive to clear that screen. Just wanted to know if any of you fellows encounter such issues also. Thanks. |

For me, the bluetooth connection to the IPhone is dependant on where the phone is. If my wife has it in her purse, and the purse is on the floor, the phone won't connect. If I put the phone in the ashtray in front of the shifter, no prob, good connection all the time. If I put the phone in the armrest, it's hit or miss, and we get intermittent connectivity like you describe in para 2 below.

My wife and I both have a 3GS. The older 3G model worked fine with the E90's bluetooth, but the 3GS were often very flaky -- tons of crackle / interference. Had a similar call quality issue with the old first gen iPhone, but that was fixed by turning off the wi-fi -- doing so makes no difference on the 3GS.
My BlackBerry 9700 worked fine.
