DON'T drill a hole

just mount it with BMW's betalink or 3M double-sided tape

betalink seems to work well. The only caveat I remeber is that the corners will sometimes lift if not enough betalink applied and not clamped long enough.
Long story short: betalink + patience = success.

Whatever you do will be better than what they did at the dealer to my car. I've had it for a year now and there's still this black stuff all over my bumper like the day after I wash it.

did they get adhesive on your car? Some grease/tar/bug remover might get it off. something for your boyfriend to do when he's in trouble.

Patience is the key! You only get one chance to get it right!
