Air Intake
I'm kinda new for the turbo motor and I'm planning to get this http://www.jlevistreetwerks.com/3-Se...duct_info.html. Will this void my factory warranty?
Thanks b4

lol why does everyone ask the same questions? any mods you do will void your warranty if you take it in to the dealer with the new intake on the car if you return the car to stock when you bring it in they wont know you did it though so then it wont void your warranty. also that is one of the best intake for are cars but it is a little expensive for my taste i would get a vishnu dual cone intake. it is cheaper and gives you same power there is another intake that is cheaper and gives you the same power and that is the bms dual cone intake. the reason i say you should go with the vishnu is the piping (i dont know if that is the right wording) is larger and you dont have to jam into place. (that is what i heard i dont have a intake) do you have a tune? i guess no i would do that before you do anything. Now you are going to ask which tune i went with the juice box. i was going to type all the tunes but now i know why people say use the search feature.

aFe sucks! i had mine in for about a year and it was bitch puttin the factory OEM airbox in after, the tubes shrunk and i had to use a hairdry to heat 'em up to get 'em loose so i can put it back in but if anyone wanted to see if there was anything installed It left a pretty good mark that there was an aftermaket intake there!....
If you're going for the looks get it if not...i'd better recommend dual cones by burger motorsports...cheap and effective and they also look pretty good. But yeah any mod can void you're warranty...

IF your Going to get an INTAKE, you need to get a TUNE... The Intake will do little for you without a TUNE, it might make a nice WHOOSH sound, but you may actually loose HP/TQ if you don't have a TUNE. SO with that being said, if you do anything, look into a TUNE like PROcede, JB3, DINAN, etc before you even look at an INTAKE. As far as warranty goes, like everyone else said, if you leave it in, when you go to the dealer, they will void your warranty, or put a notice in your record that you have mods, so that if you come in later for warranty work, they will say, "Well you had a mod in your car, so we can do any warranty work for you, but we will charge you an ass load of money to fix it." Use it's your friend when it comes to this stuff

The AFE or BMS DCI are a solid choice for intakes. The AFE utilizes a partial heat shield whereas the BMS has none...but heat soak in N54 engines are a semi negligible issue...so it just depends on your price point and what you think of the heatsoak issue.
But like others have said, definitely get a tune, JB+ or JB3 PNP, Procede/etc to go with your intake. DCI by itself will only boost power by so much but with the tune...difference will be night and day. |

The dealer could refuse warranty work on the engine for any engine related modification so long as the problem is caused by the mod. However, an intake is a pretty basic upgrade, I wouldn't worry about it.

+1, I believe they need to prove the problem was caused by your modification. I can't see an intake really causing much trouble.
