Question Best intake for 2007 335i???

Im planning to get JB3 and also trying to get an intake for my 2007 335i. What's the best intake for 335i? Is Injen dual cone intake better? or AFE Dual filter cold air intake better? Spec says Injen intake increases 13hp and AFE intake increases 27hp even tho injen intake costs more. Why is that? Also I heard that AFE intakes actually decreases hp. Is it true?

Sorry but do a I swear this thread pops up like 3 times per week. IMO stock airbox with drop-in is best unless you have lots of mods then get a DCI.

I stayed with the stock airbox with drop-in filter ever since my last dealer visit.

Do any of the drop ins increase power? Any proof?

Drop Ins are worth it if it is time to replace the factory air filter and you want something that you do not have to replace. The aFe drop ins will improve flow but you cannot expect a noticeable gain from just a filter replacement.

If you are going for a full intake, aFe is the way to go. The fully enclosed heatshield is completely worth it and they have solid filters included.

Drops in do nothing for performance
DCI's do have a performance increase (more so when running a tune)
CAI's are the way to go, if your looking for decreased IAT (Inlet Air Temps) as well as a performance increase.

Please do a as you will find more information, as I have and many others on this thread have beaten this Intake question to death, millions of times over.

If you're getting the JB3 then the JB3/DCI combo is a great idea. Its only 99.00 bux for the DCI so its hard to beat. You can checkout my site for more details on the combos.

Looks like most of your questions have been answered. Definitely beneficial to do an intake system for your car. aFe is really passionate about making power and there is so much R&D that goes into these intake systems. I would take the new sealed system into consideration!

The JB3 is an awesome product as well and is just INSTANT power!

I have the AFE DCI and I'm really happy with it. I do agree the Dci is more effective when a tune is incorporated.

^ that new AFE intake looks very restrictive, and probably very expensive for the little HP that you can acctually get.

After installing the BMW Performance Power Kit, I did 2 dyno measurements, with stock filter and with Helene drop-in filter. With Stock, I obtained 293whp. With the drop-in, I obtained 297whp. May be a run-to-run variation, but may as well be that the improved drop-in airflow does matter.

I'm running the stock box with a BMS drop-in.
My car is lightly modded so I didn't feel like I needed a real intake until I start running higher boost.

I can't say I felt any gains from the stock filter, but I can say I felt a slight improvement in response.

From what I've seen

The STETT or the UR intake look like the best options to me.

Just make sure your not driving in the rain like this last storm we had, then your gonna have one Hydro-locked car. I know in the city it wasn't as flooded as it was upstate and in parts of LI
