How to keep throwing errors with LED tail lights
I have a 2006 330i, and I'm very happy with it. To really gild the lily, I'd like to add LED tail lights. But I've heard that errors can be thrown on (error light in dash and lights going crazy at start up). I'd like my mechanic to do the install. I read somewhere that resistors could be installed, but that this can also create problems with overheating. I'd appreciate a definite answer regarding this. I'm perfectly willing to stay with the lights I have now, but if the install would have no problems, I'd like to go with the LEDs. I'm considering buying them from levis. My car's production date is February 2006.

The answer I'm getting with the same questions is that.. Yes, LED will throw error but you can install resistors so error will pop up but go away after few seconds. As you mentioned, there is the possible problem with heat.
Mike@F1 told me the error free LED bulbs won't work on our MY06 cars. We need to order regular LED and add resistors. |

Alright Mike F1, there wouldn't be any errors thrown? And at what website would I find this item? Why did the last poster mention that you told him that his '06 could not be retrofitted?

nyc3r was referring to "LED replacement bulbs" that you could swap out to on your existing taillights. His specific model/year build would require resistors. |
