damn! I still don't know how you can run 18s on your car and not get any blow outs! I'm driving with 17s in NYC and it's freaking killing me.

Love to see that our excise taxes are really going to fixing these roads!

Hit a pot hole dead on the other night. Never saw it. I hit it so hard my fillings were vibrating for the rest of the trip. I kept looking at the dash to see a tire warning. However, the 17's were fine. No rim damage either.

During daylight hours I took a look at the same spot I'd hit the previous night. The pothole wasn't just one pothole. It was two small potholes and one big pothole all in the same spot!

It was this sort of thing that keeps me on 17s.

Bahahaha, that's awesome.
I understand they're not always avoidable, but you're definitely more aware of road conditions when you're lowered!

I got the class action lawsuit notice in the mail, but I have ContiProContact SSR. I guess they were just sending it to all owners.

The 16s are great for potholes.

Doesn't Boston (maybe MA?) have an iPhone app for reporting potholes? I remember seeing it on the local news a while back. Lets you snap a pic, tag the location with GPS, and send it off. Wonder if anyone actually pays attention and fixes them.

The potholes this year seem to be worse than ever. I see multiple ones in one area which makes it tough to completely avoid hitting them. Dangerous stuff...makes me wonder why they cannot perfect filling up potholes so that they do not get ripped open again...

Why don't you report them directly to your local town? Last year when I lived in Somerville I sent every pothole I encountered to the city and within 36 hours it was filled.

Now I'm in Boston. They have an iPhone app to report infrastructure problems. I haven't seen any huge potholes just yet.

hit a pothole about a week ago and got the flat tire warning...filled it up only to have it go low again. Had it checked out at a local tire shop and come to find out i have a cracked rim ...i was surprised i didnt pop a 17 with all the potholes i hit, but i guess i didnt avoid all the damage. looks like im making a trip to rimpro sometime early tomorrow morning to drop it off

Good luck, Rimpro should fix it up. My buddy has a slow leak (down about 5lbs per week) after hitting a pothole last month and I suspect the same thing. Sucks this time of year.
