Los Angeles Area.....Dinner location ideas...
Hello folks anyone know a nice place to go(something nice n affordable 100-150 bucks with drinks is no biggie) In the LA area, it can be downtown, or somewhere in hollywood, or la cienga and stuff.
Im sure all of you LA folks know what im talking about, i just want to have a good time with my date, and i want it to be a nice/great atmosphere place. I was thinking Yamashiro. Can i get some help! |

Katsuya in Brentwood (on San Vincente) if you want sushi... as long as you don't go overboard on drinks, its actually a pretty affordable place for a couple people to eat. $150 for a couple no problems... Usually a Lambo/Enzo, etc. parked out front and celebrities on the inside. Its very, very, LA.
If you want a great meal that's kind of off the beaten path, I would suggest the Buffalo Club on Olympic in Santa Monica. Old school supper-club'ish scene. Lots of mahogony and leather. Good drinks/great seasonal menus/cool atmosphere.. its more of a locals only type of place ~$200.00-250.00 for a couple. If you go you MUST get the cheese grit fries. Definitly not to be missed. Best meal I've ever eaten in LA (and I've had a lot of good ones) was Craft LA over off of avenue of the stars. Good, good isht over there. for a couple people with a moderate thirst for booze you'll be at ~$250.00-$300.00 without breaking a sweat. But it was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. |

If you like Sushi and do not care about a Lambo or Ferrari parked up front necessarily to validate the place, this is a great, affordable new discovery of mine. It's fusion Sushi. Owners are a young Korean couple and their food is fantastic and affordable : Miru 8691 in Beverly Hills
I am helping them in design, branding and forming a business venture to open a second location : a totally new restaurant concept. http://www.miru8691.com/ Yelp reviews : http://www.yelp.com/biz/miru8691-beverly-hills |

I know... but it wasn't close to where I used to live, so I hardly ever went there.
I kind of got the feeling from the OP that he wanted to impress a lady, that's why I suggested the one in Brentwood since its pretty flashy. And by saying it was very LA, I wasn't trying to validate it, but rather call it what it was. I personally hated that LA bullshit lifestyle (one of the reasons I GTFO and now live in Chicago). Gotta admit that food aside pulling up to the one in Brentwood is a bit more impressive than trying to find parking at the studio city location that is crammed into a micro strip mall. Did they have valet in SC? I don't even remember... |

it would be easier to narrow down what type of food.
u want romantic with good service and quiet vs trendy. all the japanese place listed above r loud and trendy. Some decent places that wont break the bank. 150 total can be done @ Osteria Mozza (loud trendy) Sushi ZO (true sushi, not the LA trendy) Hatfields (not sure if they reopened yet) AOC ( wine bar ) Bazaar at the SLS hotel (trendy) <- probably the most unique dining experience in LA at the moment |
