Hopefully it drives better than my mums clk 200 k. (2007 or 8)
Thing is POS - terrible auto and weak engine. Takes about 4 seconds after smashing the accelerator for it to actually give any throttle.

I love the interiors of mercs they are usually way nicer and more modern compared to BMWs design. But the ones ive driven have never really been a drivers car.
My dad also has a ML320 diesel (2008) has lots of power but feels very floaty and light steering.

0-100km/h is quoted as 7.4 so quicker than 323i, 320d and 325i.

Nicely optioned for the price too. Still gets the 5-speeder with its slow changes and inability to properly hold gears. Does Avantgarde get you leather, or just Artico?

Having driven C200K standard and sport pack (mixed 17's, lowered suspension) back to back a few times with 325i, 323i and 320d just recently it wasn't a difficult decision for us in the end. The BMW just communicates and feels more alive and entertaining than the Merc.

Still, that CGI engine is getting great reviews in the E-class. BMW really need to get a little more out of their petrols to compete with this, but then their diesels seem comfortably ahead. For now.

It's funny because i went to my local Merc dealer today at Mosman and had a good look for mum's replacement car. She has a CLK 320 and really likes the new E class coupe so of course being the car nut i am i went to inspect it. I also was there to confirm the rumours i have been hearing about the car i am after. Merc interiors accross the board have improved quite a bit, at least from the current clk. The new C-class interior is still quite plastic looking for my taste but the new e-class coupe interior is quite impressive. The materials used have a great feel they also look like they are quite durable compared to the BMW's we have owned. (335 had the auto shifter paint peel same as our X3)

On another note mainly for Scheps, the facelift C63 will be released towards the end of the year and will most likely have the new 5.5L TT V8 in it. I was going to order for June delivery (for my bday) but as soon as i heard the possibility of engine change i opted to wait it out. Dealer confirmed today of high chance of engine upgrade. I know you are after the C63 so you might be lucky to get one for a great price before the release of facelift C-Class range.

C220 CDI vs 320d, the difference was in the handling and the interior, the Merc just didn't cut it. C250 CGI vs... 325i? 160 kW and 0 to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds with BMW's handling and interior still wins for my mind.

C250CGI is auto-only AFAIK, BMW 325i in auto is 7.8 secs.

Also not a fan of MB's interior and ergonomics.

Very good price! I drove the C200 arvangarde a few times. Very impress with it overall. The only exceptions were those goose neck boot hinges, the (really) noisy supercharger and slow gear changing 5 speed auto.
