Yes! Low profile Motomaster Aluminium Jack going on sale!
My patience finally paid off! I missed it the last time it was on sale in December from $200 down to $120, and I just got a sale alert that it'll be going on sale as of March 19 for $120!

Many here use it, so it shouldn't be a problem. A ton is defined to be 2,000 pounds, so 1.5 tons would be 3,000 pounds. You're never going to have more than much weight on the jack that when lifting a corner of a car, or even a side I guess. Our cars are around 4000 pounds. If you were lifting one end of a big SUV (both tires), maybe it would be an issue...

Great deal!
I still have to drive up wood planks for mine to get under the car though

Some use a breaker bar to remove the bolts others use an impact gun. These are good sockets as they will not scratch your wheels. http://www.princessauto.com/air/air-...=impact+socket |

Just picked one up from our local store
Here's a newb question - Where exactly are we supposed to place/position the jack? Directly below the black rectangular thingie or beside it? And after it's been lifted, where are the best locations to put the axle-stand(s)? TIA!

Actually I've published in peer-reviewed journals related to subject.
Ha sorry I meant to say that it's now 40% off in Alberta. When you guys had your sale, it only went down to 20% off all last week and then went down an additional 40% off to $120 now as of this morning. I bought it last week at $160 so I got my $40 back today at lunch. Last edited by Andy M; 03-19-2010 at 05:55 PM.. |

I was told to use a hockey puck on top of the jack and the jacking point of the car? I remember reading a while back someone here was selling jack adapters. Where can I buy that?

Actually I just reread the original post. OP said it was to be on sale today for $120. So I guess the sale for this one is the same. But I do notice that some CT's have sales on some things and some don't. I bought a backup camera for my fiancee from the Toronto Eaton Centre Canadian Tire once and it wasn't on sale in Edmonton. So I guess some things go on sale but some things don't. But yeah, the same jack has been on sale in Edmonton for the last while at $160. I bought it at that price so I just went back and got my money back from CT. I think everyone knows though that CT's regular price is a rip off most of the time. However, when things go on sale there, it's something like 40% off. |
