VM CSL wheels

for those folks who have the velocity motoring replica csl wheels, whats your long term experience with it? is the quality ok?

im thinking of getting 18x8.5 ,et40, for e92 335i, i believe its about 24 pounds, is this a reasonable weight? as it is a cast wheel, im not expecting any miracles with the weight.

im thinking of running dunlop 3D 225/40/18 for winter...(i have the 230s for summer), would a 225 tire fit just fine on an 8.5 width rim? will the tire be stretched too much?

thanks

in my opinion, you get what you pay for, Velocity, from what I've read, seems pretty decent, but yeah, 24 pounds for 18's is not that light, but they look good. So if look is all you're after, and not performance, go for it.

For comparison, BBS RC 18x8.5's weighs 17lbs each

yeah, i know, the csl looks darned good, and i like it.
on the other hand i might go the other way and go with the forged bbs RGR at 19lbs. big price diff of course.
its hard to decide!

btw, what is center bore?
bbs website states centerbore for RGR is 72.50
VM csl has centerbore 72.60, is this a big deal?

My thoughts are if your choosing between a HQ rim vs others, I would always choose the HQ gear for your BMW, your car deserves it and you will be rewarded with a superior product.

velocity motoring's csl replicas have a pretty good reputation in various bmw forums. 24 lbs is not bad for a cast wheel.
