Dealer Horror Story
One of my local dealerships tried to deny my free oil change (which led to me calling a second) because a dealership, before I even bought the car, had a typo in how many miles my car has. The conversation went something like this...
SA "How many miles are on you car?" Me "34000." SA "That can't be right, my computer tells me you had 44000 in October of 2008" Me "I bought my car with 29000 miles in January of 2009." SA "From who" Me "A BMW dealer[I actually said the dealer name, but am leaving it out to protect the innocent !" SA "Well, we can't do your oil change for free because of the discrepency" After a lot of bla bla bla, I ended up needing to go to the original dealer I bought my car from, who claims they will correct the milage discrepency on Monday. Can you believe that BMW F's up with a typo for my milage and this dealer denies me service!?!?! |

Yup.....similar event happened to me.
A dealer about an hour west of where I lived replaced my turbos under warranty. Shortly after, I moved to a new residence about an hour further east. My HPFP died and I took it to another local BMW dealer, who found there was a small oil leak coming from one of the replaced turbos. They refused to fix it and said I would have to go back to the original dealer that swapped my turbos Long story short.....that original dealer was now a 3 hour drive during rush hour. Because I had just started a new job I didn't want to take a half day off just to drive my car to the dealer. So I had to rent a hotel room near the first dealer and stay there overnight at my own expense, just so I could drop the car off at 8am and still get to work on time. They can warranty my ass because it's sore from being shafted. |
