Trapping 109.3 mph on stock tune

Ever wonder what kind of traps you might get fairly modded without a tune?

Today I decided to use the bypass map#0

Wanted to make sure the car's stock boost level performance was still intact, and the transmission operation seemed normal.

High octane #97
Meth injection, barely triggers since boost is generally below the 7psi cut in threshold.
17" K1 wheels
Lightweight battery
Passenger Seats removal.
UR Downpipes
BMS DCI

109.3 mph. 13.3 ET with a 2.2 60'
So definitely potential 12's with a 2.0 sec 60' time

You can see the run and the low boost levels in the video:

Before running Map#0, I was able to run 121.5mph (124mph Sac) with normal trans operation.

With all these drastic modes of operation the car has been going through, I am sure with adaptation, the mph would improve on either of these maps. I literally changed the maps on the road and ran the tests.

Yup, and about a 100hp 12mph gain just by turning on the tune!

I'm curious if I could trap 109mph at stock boost. I might go test this tomorrow. Have dp's, tune, fmic, and intake. I'm guessing around 106-7.

Might need high octane/meth. Let us know!

I'm pretty sure I could go faster after adapting, and this was on back to back to back runs, so no cooling whatsoever.

Do you do all your tests starting in 2nd? I just got my Perf Box and did a couple of tests and was only able to manage 4.8sec 0-60 starting in 1st with tire spin of course. I did not do a full 1/4 test since I forgot to setup the distance test for that. I think it hit 90 in 8.7. I am running map 5 on 2.0 with everything else stock down to the filter in my 135i.

I always start in second with the AT and run consistent 4-4.3 sec 0-60 with map 7. The elimination of extra wheelspin and the shift make up for the lag in acceleration. Of course, I'm AT, so it's easy to do. First gear on the AT without an LSD/slicks is useless IMO. 0-90 time looks normal for map 5.

Wow Warren, just wached the video and I'm not sure I've ever seen your speedo move so slowly.

That is what I figured. I have an AT so I left it in DS and nailed it but of course it went into 1st spun and then went to 2nd. I will try the 2nd gear method this weekend and do the 1/4 mile test as well.

Quite Frankly, starting in 2nd is also very difficult to launch without wheel spin. You just have to be conservative with the throttle. 2nd gear launches helps saves the tires some, and very consistent as long as you launch the same way for each test. Just be careful not to hit the kickdown below 30mph or so, otherwise it will shift back down to 1st gear and ruin your run. I can get in the 3.9 seconds range at times with 2nd gear luanches.

The meth was causing the surging since it was barely activating at stock boost levels. Turned it off and did a faster run, and 109.9 and perfectly smooth. I will post the video.

Isn't starting in 2nd gear at WOT with upgraded power levels REALLY bad for the torque converter? I have tried starting in 2nd a couple of times at WOT (given that I get zero traction in 1st) and it seems like the transmission is really straining until ~ 2,000 RPMs. This is the first modded auto I've owned in 20+ years of driving so forgive my ignorance on the subject.

Can you really "launch" an AT? I mean wouldn't you just hold the brake and gas and then let off the brake..?
