Earthquake Subs

Can anyone share some light on the Earthquake sws subwoofer that replaces the factory subs under the seats? Does it really fit and do you need an amp to drive them?

They fit with a bit of modification to the enclosure. Yes, you need an amp for them.

Garage List
Why do you want to do this?
Do you have the hi-fi system, or just the base system?

I'd upgraded the full system replacing all the speaker and added a sub in the boot. However, with a stealth installation, 4 inch speakers don't do justice and it's really missing mid base. Looking for alternatives before chopping the interior.

I'm currently running 4 inch MB Quartz splits and a 10 inch Rockford shallow sub that fits in the boot hole via a Rockford 3sixty extracting out from the OEM radio.

You have probably read the audio section here. The opinion, including mine, is that the SWS's are subwoofers, so they are not the best for mid bass, but are OK. I used them for mid bass because there are very few alternatives that would fit in the under seat enclosures.
