I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.


We are moving into a gated community. They have an eleectric gate system that is made by a company called AWID. You are supposed to put a sticker in your window. On my 2007 335i sedan it iwll not work. As soon as we get the sticker near the window it iwll no longer activate the gate. The only other option I have found is an ungly black bar that goes on the front quarter panel and that is not happening.

The system works off a 902-928 MHz frequency hop. Is there soemthing in the BWM electronics that is stopping this from working? Has anyone else delt with this? Any ideas or solutions would be great.

Do you have tints? Some tints will block radio frequencies.

I do have tints but not on the front where the sticker is supposed to go. The other BMW I saw with the uglt bar did not have tints

Is that black bar on the outside or inside? I'm trying to picture it on the quarter panel. Have you tried another sticker? Maybe it's the one you have, defective? Do you have comfort access? I don't know what frequency it operates on but I'm just throwing ideas at you.

I have a similar thing to open the gate to my building, and i have it hidden behind the dot matrix up almost under the headliner (invisible from both inside and out) and it still works, even with my comfort access. I am not sure what the frequency is though.

Ever think about sticking it to the sunroof? I have seen guys put their ezpasses there (mine is painted black and adhered to the windshield with black dual-lock). Give sticking it against the sunroof a try!
