Bootrom is not the same as firmware version. However, can be implied that since OP had it for barely 2 weeks and assuming it was purchased brand new, it is the newer bootrom and thus cannot be unlocked, unless some new advancements have been made in the past month or two (I haven't been reading up on it).

keep in mind no unlock for 3.1.3 will be released till the ipad comes out and maybe when 3.2 comes out
they don't want to release it now and apple figures out how to stop it and changes the hardware
if you wait till they release 1.2 million ipad
at least those will always be unlockable
my iphone 3gs was one of the early ones and its unlockable
i always try to get the hardware as soon as it comes out so i can unlock it since i travel a lot

Nice to see Geohot is making some progress. Did you ever try his BlackRa1n unlock/jailbreak? I could never get it working properly without freezing so I just stuck with iphonedev's redsn0w.
