I'd say lease it. My car is financed and this is the LAST FINANCING of a car I'll ever do... I'm sure you can get something much better with a $1150/month payment.

Is there a reason you're only putting $5,000 down?

I see everybody commenting on the financing front. Pl take the financing out of the picture, as the financing portion is from a dealer's assumption, i may put down as much as 25k, and i am not comfortble with leasing, as it has got its own disadvantages, one of them mainly the limited mileage option and others. So, i have to decided to purchase, only question is the price+options...
How much low can i negotiate considering it is 2011 model. |

Sounds like you need to do more research above and beyond asking questions here.

I bought my car new in 2008 with the same exact options as you except I don't have metallic paint. I got the car wit 0.9% interest and pay 996/mo so I think it's just the interest raping you.

I feel sorry for the OP as most of the respondents weren't even care to read his questions before answering.
Here's what I thought - I think you can do better than that. Here's what I know. BMW is offering cerdit for automatic transmission (YES, they are offering credit on the 2011 models because I just ordered mine 3 weeks ago!), therefore, you should try to get at least another $1,305 deducted from your quoted price. Dealer's invoice price should be around $56,580. A fair deal would be $56,580 + $1000 = $57,580 minus AT transmission credit ($1305)= $56275. At this point, I can say you are over-paying for this car by a wide margin (at least $1500 - $2000). Let me know if you have any questions. NBD |

One thing is you can always learn from other's experience. So, i can go back & do more research or learn from others. I have decided to be little smart and chose the second route... :-)
Now, on your part, you can be sarcastic or helpful, and it is upto you to choose what you want to be..... :-) Well, i would need a convertible but within a price range, so Mx is out of option for me, as they would shoot upto 100K depending on the models + options. Bottomline is for the 2011 model, is it fair to pay 500 over invoice + maco (380) + doc fee (55) thus about $900 in dealer profit, seems like it can be better. Any suggestions? Also, what is a nominal lic+reg fee in california? Any help is appreciated. |

Thanks NewBimmerDriver. This was very useful. But, there is a spring drive credit going on for 2010 models? Are you sure they are offering one for 2011.
And, 2011 3series sedan is not getting a refresh right, so they may be offering (if at all) credit for sedans and not for coupes/convertibles which are getting refreshed. thanks |

Yes, I just ordered my 2011 335i sedan 3 weeks ago (this is not the same as the spring drive credit they are offering on the remaining 2010 models).
You should check with other dealerships to confirm this information. I am not certain if BMW is extending this offer to the coupes and convertibles, but they should. NBD |
