Thanks, Kevin. I wonder what the deal is with it and if BMW will cover it under warranty. If not, i'll most likely have to pull it and powdercoat it. It's the only thing that bothers me in the engine bay.

no problem, bmw may cover it i'm not really sure. either way its only held in by 2 nuts and one bolt, then just take the nuts that hold the vacuum canisters on and have it powder coated, you can zip tie the canisters and still drive the car if needed.
