BobSmith BMW

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could share their (recent) experience with BobSmith BMW. Primarily related to purchase of a CPO.

Also, any reference / SA would really help.

Thanks!

I can't help you out THAT much, but I did send about 20 e-mails to one of the internet sales managers while I was looking around for my cars. He was incredibly nice, helpful, and providing me with any information I desired. Classy guy from what I could tell. His name was Neil Perlmutter.

one of my friend bought a car there. i think what happens was when he bought it, they said it was CPO and everything is fine, never been to an accident. However, a few months down the road, he notice one of his passenger doors closes a little weird. After taking it to a bodyshop to examine it, he found out the passenger door was replaced and looks like its been into an accident and everything. so now, he's getting a lawyer to try to get them to buy the car back.

Good to know. Thanks for the name. Just wondering, did you end up buying from them, or you got a better deal somewhere else? (not sure if you were looking for a CPO or a new one, as I see you drive 09 335i) :-)

That is bizzare. Seems like there are more dealers, than expected, who do this kind of business. When did this happen btw?

I would be interested in that. I can probably deal with the distance if I get a really good deal.

Does anyone recommend an SA with whom you would have interacted for sales?

Thanks!

I got a better deal elsewhere (Steve Thomas in Camarillo) but Rusnak is the only place I go for service. First time I went I put a note on my car "Do not wash or update ECU." The next time I made an appointment my SA came outside to greet me with a bottle of water and told me he made a note to the service personnel not to wash my car or perform any updates. And he has done this every time since. It's a great place to deal with! Can't remember his name off the top of my head though...

Personally, the few times I have gone into Bob Smith, something has rubbed me the wrong way.

I definitely recommend Rusnak BMW in Thousand Oaks. I can get great deals there as one of my best friends is the internet manager. PM me if you'd like his info.

I don't like bob smith personally. They are all to good for everyon it seems. Gets anoying after a while. I gave the sa a bad rating. And she actually had the nerve to call me and complain to me. I told her she is just making it worst. Haha. And never took it back there.

Never had any issues that any of the previous posters had.... my car's gone there for service/problems since I got the car (including oil cooler install) and never had one issue with their service department.

No experience with sales though.....

bob smith is a pretty small dealership with a limited inventory compared to other dealerships in SoCal.

+1 on Steve Thomas in Camarillo.
When I was looking for pre-owned, they had the best deals. Not to mention, their service people are the best.

I've heard that, but they're just too far for me to go to on a regular basis. Especially if I am already happy with the local service...
