Doors not opening

Door lock malfunctioning. All 4 doors on my 2007 BMW 335i won't open using the key remote nor the central lock system. Even when trying to open the door manually, I was not able to open any of the 4 doors.

Driving it to the dealership Saturday... probably should roll down the window so I can climb out.. first BMW and last... lol..

A freind just had a similar problem with her 2006 325, except she couldn't lock the doors. Cost her about $500 to fix, another $300 to fix the door she locked manually by pushing down the button thingy on the top of the door (s0 don't doo that).

A BMW isn't a Lexus for reliability, but it doesn't drive like one either.

Its a BMW

By the time he gets to the service bay...the window switches will stop working

But yea...this isn't a lexus, you should budget at least 4-7 K after warranty for BMW repairs. Good thing is, you're still under warranty.

Its a known issue its either the fuse or the actuators have gone. In my case it was the actuator.

In some cases you can open the driver side door with the key and in some you cant.

remember, the key fob contains a real "key" that you can use to unlock (and lock) the doors. so don't push the pin on the door.

Happened to me about two months back, they have a service bulletin regarding it and replaced all four under warranty even though only one had malfunctioned.

Bump.

Does anybody have a TSB # or some part # that I can speak to the dealer with?

Can work on TSBs be claimed outside the warranty period?

My key was not working when I first bought the car unless I was right up to the door and pushed the button 10 times.

Ended up being corroded wires they replaced in the car. Covered under warranty.

Hopefully you don't have to pay anything...or else I would be pissed as well.

+1 and also a 2007 335i. Had to climb over to the passenger seat and leave out the passenger door. Then had to repeat to drive away. Wonderfully safe if you get into an accident and need to exit the car quickly. The only $%#%$# car that I have seen where there is no mechanical actuator from the inside. Later realized, however, that the mechanical key does work from the outside and so does the outside door handle (useful feature when the key is inside the car with you).

The issue is the actuator which degrades, consumes more current and eventually blows the fuse. Don't let them just replace the fuse. It will blow again later. Common and old problem so argue with them and get them to pay for the repair.

I've the same problem on my 335i and I'll bring it in for repair next week. I can open the door from outside but not from inside. So I've to climb to the passenger side to exit the car By the way I only have problem on the driver side door.

I have it on my front passenger side. Already replaced the fuse, but the door lock issue is intermittent. I'd appreciate it if somebody posts to confirm the TSB (are they diff for Canada?)

here's the one I found on the main TSB thread:
