Magnaflow Exhaust #16539 for E90 330i?

Magnaflow has recently come out with a cat back exhaust for the E90 330i. Has anyone installed this system?

Also possibly looking at the Top Speed Pro 1 muffler with resonator delete.

Any feedback will be appreciated!

I havent heard of the magnaflow yet, but I have been looking at Remus, Ikon, and Top speed.... I think I am going ot go with the top speed, ive heard its like remus and ikon mixed, and for only 300 bucks shipped. cant beat that, plus everyone on here who has had it loves it. no problems and sounds great.

I will look into the magnaflow though.

for about 930 bucks... I would probably jsut go BMW performance if you are spending the money. Remus is very conservative, Ikon is a little louder, and the top speed is in between. which is perfect for what I am looking for, but still am not 100% sold

that magnaflow is too expensive for what you are getting in my opinion.

Remus' sound improves significantly with a resonator-delete. But yes, it's pretty conservative.

Chewy- would you recommend the Remus over the Top Speed? without res delete for starter. and then maybe one later.

Garage List
Someone has already installed it on their E90 and posted 3 bids on Youtube. Not bad...also considering this myself.

Does the BMW performance exhaust come with something more than the Magnaflow for an extra $160? What makes it too expensive?

well...not sure how you can compare Ikon in this or top speed... they are JUST mufflers... Magnaflow and BMW performance include piping from the cat-back and a second resonator...or at least the magnaflow does.

I'd go with the Top Speed and put a Y-pipe in for the resonator.

After reading the other post about losing HP on the SS system I'd be incredibly hard pressed to do any exhaust - $1k to lose hp/tq (even a minor amount) and get some sound. ROI doesn't seem to make sense to me, but to each their own.

Magnaflow

Magnaflow installed their exhaust for 328i on my car last month and Dyno resulted 12 horse power with stock intake. I cant imagine what it is now with the intake because i can now feel the difference. Im going to call them back and do another dyno. I was a beta test to see which system fit the 08+ and what modification was needed. I believe the e92 was the only modification they needed on the tail piples. But sure is a nice system. They installed a stainless steel cat back system.

thanks to Magnaflow, saved me 1000 out of pocket expense.

Pretty good deal man and if it were free then I'd be all over it too!! 12hp is a fantastic gain on any one mod to us NA folks, kudos to them. Perhaps my cynicism comes from this article.

We can't let one article completely skew our opinions on exhaust. I am doing dyno runs this weekend and I'll see what my numbers are versus stock.

Quite true - I hope the numbers work out in your/our favor for sure! Make sure you post the dyno charts; while I don't know that I'll be buying a full out exhaust system I would enjoy seeing the difference between them if I were ever to consider it.

I'm not paying 1 grand plus for a cat back exhaust.... Ridiculous. E90Post members, make your own damn exhaust system. Buy a muffler and go to an exhaust shop. Or straight pipe.

Search magnaflow within the past couple of days, a guy posted the part number.

Or the ebay Top Speed muffler.

Or straight pipes.

Any competant exhaust shop can make a cat back....

Well honestly I just bought an angle grinder and I'm going to try and cut the current tip off and buy a quality clamp on tip and see how it goes.

sound? i've heard them on a few different non-335is, and it sounds great imho.

quality? yep. and i like the fact it's offered by bmw themselves.

more HP gain? hp gain will be pretty minimal, if anything, with any exhaust on non-335i.
