Battery warning light message

Guys,

It seems my battery is on it's way out as the frequency of the low battery light is increasing. I've just back back after an hours drive on the motorway, but as soon as I turned off the engine & opened the door, the battery warning light chimed yet again

The car is only 2 1/2 years old having covered 23k. Anyone know if the warranty will cover this? Although of course it may not necessarily mean it is the battery itself but lack of charge going to it.

If its in warranty get it into the dealers.

Batteries are covered AFAIK.

Alternators definitely are covered.

Could also be down to a faulty IBS.
