What's your fuel consumption driving in HK?
Just curious to know what you guy's fuel consumption rate is for driving your bimmers in HK. In the states we use miles per gallon, but in HK, since it's a metric system, I'll use the litres per 100 km. I drive a e90 325i here and I get a reading of 12.4 l/100 km, which seems a bit high for a 325i. What about you guys?

I've been doing some calculations and no surprise, discovered that if there were diesel bimmers in HK, it could all save us a bundle. Particularly with the gasoline tax here combined with the low fuel consumption of the 335d, it would make a real and significant difference in how much we can saved in gas spending at the stations. Let's petition the government: WE WANT DIESEL BMWs IN HONG KONG NOW!!!. Hahaha.

Haha, yeah. Being stuck in traffic at Queen's Road or Gascoigne road isn't going to help one's fuel consumption. If you live on HK Island, with all the hilly roads, it's worst, those uphill sections really take a toll. Fortunately I live in N.T, and despite having to commute to the other corner of NT for work, I get to bypass most of the city traffic. Of course I do drive to kowloon or HK every now and then, so I do get hit with the traffic often enough.

Intersting, how much hp does 323i has? The 325i has 215 hp, I wonder if the reduced horsepower really make that much of a difference in fuel savings? Although if I do around 12.2l/100 km, that may not be that much.
Don't know how much switching to 17 inch will worsen fuel consumption, maybe it's better to compare it with how much better performance and handling you can get from it and balance that the fuel consumption. |

I hope fuel consumption improves after the break in period. I am averaging 18.5L/100km on my E92 325, with mostly city driving (and the highway stretch from wanchai to kennedy town). I only have 400km on the car though. Did you guys experience a big improvement?

It's 17.2L/100km with almost all city driving mid-levels to happy valley area. But I think it can do better after another thousand or two km. |

wow
![]() I think i'm the winner. 23.0 L/100km right here. 335i saloon received a few days, 280 km mileage on the car, original 18" wheel and tyre no mod (yet!). haven't been through the break-in period yet. i move around happy valley and wanchai (a bit of up hill) it actually bothers me why its so high and was consider if i should stop by service center to do a check-up. I call them and one guy answer me saying some other customer with a new car also reported that, they didn't see any problem with the car and those customers never come back a second time for the same complain so he believe its because the consumption would go down to normal level after awhile....should I believe in him. how long should i see substantial improvement? |
