Window Tinting
Any suggestions on where to get my E90 sedan windows tinting near Markham, Ontario area? About how much should I budget for?
I learned from another posting that there is no actual legal limit for tinting but rather it is subjective to the officer. However, is there a "generally accepted" darkest of tinting that is typically safe with cops? |

i have 20% all around..on a silver car it looks quite dark..not sure about markham but toronto cops dont seem to be too bad about it (at least compared to montreal)..fingers crossed..but in terms of how much you should be looking to pay depends on the quality of tint you get..mine were about $300 for all windows and rear but they were the best quality available..be looking to spend at least $200 on decent tints all around

I just had mine done by Laser Tint in Woodbridge, right beside Maranello. It was $395, though that included a markup for the dealer. Too early to tell if it's a good job, but looks good so far. 35% all around on a Le Mans blue.
Some of my friends have had FX in Markham do theirs with no problems. I don't know about their prices, but no quality issues that I know of. http://www.fxauto.com/ |

Formula One in Newmarket is pretty good. I went with the Pinnacle Series which is a ceramic based film, it's just over 300 dollars.

My friends and I have all used itint in Vaughan. Hes done at least 100 jobs for me, my customers and my friends over the years. No one has ever had a problem. Ive never seen anyone get closer to the edge of the window either.
Lifetime warranty and a great guy to deal with. PM me if you want more info. He charges around $250 for a coupe I believe (my prices are obviously less since Ive been using him for so long, so I cant remember how much he actually charges)

Thanks for the info guys! My car is alpine white. Can anybody share their experience with what level of tint works best? I prefer to be on the darker side but definitely want to stay legal. I have no idea on how to interpret that into %

Ceramic based
Quote:
Based on the info on the link, the difference between ceramic based tint and the lower one (comfort tint?) is that ceramic doesn't interfere with electronic device. I didn't even know the regular tint can reduce signal. I guess it depends on the price premium over the other one. |

I'd suggest Jeff @ Audio Heaven. My first car was done at Thornhill like 10 years ago, all other cars by Jeff. Thornhill Tints is good but $$$, imo, same quality as Audio Heaven. A lot of ppl like Auto Links in Scarlem too. I got 20% and black interior, no issues with cops on the e90. It's up to the cop like you said. I had 35% on my old civic and got hassled for tints but thats probably b/c it was a civic and a heat score back then.

I had a guy who came to my garage and did it for me, he's mobile. $120 with 3 years warranty and $160 lifetime if I remember correctly, he used SolarGard and did a great job.
I have 35% all around, so far I am still happy after 1 year having it tinted. Before: After: I can hook you up if you like what you see

Check out Audioheaven in Richmond Hill. (Leslie and Hwy 7)
Got 35% all around on my BMW last week and I love it. www.audioheaven.com I've searched quite a bit and haven't read any complaints. Oh btw. Price: $220 + tax. |
