OK, I really want JB3 2.0, BUT........
I have an 12/06 build 07 335i
as many of you know, I dont have stock oil cooler. I am completely stock other wise. I live in MD so I have access to 93 octane. What supporting mods do I have to purchase? Do i need Down pipes? Inter cooler oil cooler etc.... |

To get the best out Of a tune, jb 2.0 in this case you Will need an aftermarket fmic, catless dp's, dual cones or cai, catback exhaust....And Of course an oilcooler...Over and out..

I have the same as you a 07 with no oil cooler. I am running a JB3 on map 4 and a BMS dci and oil temps are ok for me. The car runs great and I have never had an issue. Just do it. you will be very happy you did..

You really dont need any supporting mods to run the JB3. Many members on this forum are running it without a oil cooler.
To get the best power out of the tune of course supporting mods are always best. The driving experience completely changes. ![]() |

It all depends on what MAP you want to run. The higher the map the more supporting mods you'll need. Stick to map 3 or 5 and you'll be fine on an otherwise stock car with 93 oct. edit: Forgot to mention that my buddy also has an 07' build with no oil cooler. He runs map 5(2.0) daily with cali 91 oct. He has no mods. Last edited by alpinedevil335; 04-11-2010 at 02:01 PM.. |

Get the cp-e IC/OC option. You'll knock out two concerns you have and your car will thank you for it. You live in MD so they'd be convenient and, I know, are looking for a car w/o the stock oil cooler to make the cp-e OC work for guys in your situation.

I don't have any oil cooler and my oil temps never went pass 250, or whatever is in the center of the gauge. I run map 7 on the jb3 2.0 and have dci, catback exhaust and run 93 octane and have never once experienced a problem (knock on wood). And I run the car pretty hard once in a while.
I honestly don't think you'll need an oil cooler unless you're planning on tracking your car. GL!

My car is exactly like yours 12/07 build, no oil cooler, had a JB+ for 20k miles and now have a JB3 with no problems at all.. no temperature induced limp modes... all good.
Don't make a thread telling us how much your pu$$y hurts... just do it...you won't regret it...

I was running on map 7 at one point on a 100% stock engine, airbox etc. 93 octane. Car ran flawless. Obviously if you want to maximize your performance you'll want some supporting mods..dci..downpipes..fmic..etc. |

Im pretty sure Terry's ( BMS) 335i didnt have an oil cooler and it was fine. Before my dealer retroffited one on mine I was tuned and NEVER had any issues. go for it.

My 07 335i ran 11's tune only. No oil cooler. Quite frankly, I really didn't notice much diffrence in the 08 with the oil cooler. It definitely isn't an issue at the drag strip. Only sustained hard driving in higher temps, etc.
