picking a '07 328xi off inventory today...

hi everyone, i am picking up a 2007 328xi off inventory today and these are the three cars they have available:

jet black with terra interior, premium package and cold weather package

monaco blue with beige interior, cold weather package

titanium silver with black interior, cold weather package

Which would you choose? Also does anyone have any images of the OEM rear deck spoiler? should i have that added on?

Are you sure you don't want any of the other options? Sports package is worth it just for the seats, and also getting a color combination you'd prefer is worth the wait. I personally love jet black, but wouldn't get pair it with a terra interior.

I agree. If you have to ask us, then do you really want any of the options? It might be worthwhile to order a package you would prefer and wait a bit to get in. Unless the dealership is offering a ridiculous deal for you and you can live with the options and color combination.

i needed the car ASAP and can't wait for the order. thats the problem. i just looked into another dealer and they have the color combo i prefer (black on black). the thing is no one has the sports packs. and the thing is i am not sure i mind... i have wheels to put on the car (if they fit - my ET35 offset M5 style rims) and i am not sure how important the sport seats are. are they that much better than premium package seats? i have the sports seats in the 330xi and i like them but what is the difference exactly? the sports packs for these e90s dont have any suspension upgrade or aero upgrade, correct?

i like the monaco and the jet, but since the jet has an extra package, that would be my choice

you should pick the car that suits YOU the most, not the car that WE like. If you don't think sport seats are not that much of a deal to you, then don't spend the extra $$.

and don't get the factory spoiler, it looks really really x 100 ugly

well since you've been leaning towards black then go for the black/terra with the ZPP and ZCW. Its a beautiful combo.

black is hot.......if you dont' mind cleaning it, I have black and I don't mind it, for now

The seats (to me) were not that big of a loss--I did not get the sport package on my '07 328 E92 b/c I did not think it was really necessary. The wheels were ho-hum and the seats did not impress me--just my .02

i am a black on black fan as well... my 330 from 2002 is jet black on black int. my dad has a black sapphire on black int X5. whats the terra look like? anyone have any photos of that interior?

Plenty...if you mosey on over to the photo gallery section on this forum. A simple search will net you many pics/posts on terra. If that doesn't suit you, a quick visit to the dealership should give you a better real-life look at terra (understandable, as terra is hard to photograph)

looks like its gonna be jet black and terra interior, premium pack and cold weather pack. apparently we are going with this because the dealer is giving my family a really nice price break and as i said early we have no time to wait.

i would special order and be patient, cause i was in the same situation as you and they didn't have sapphire black at that time so i said f#%k it. let me just sit back and wait for 2 month for my special order, the way i want and unique to my taste.
had the packages and options i wanted and the ones i didn't need. then 2 months later i was a happy man

Grats man on your new baby...I know waiting is difficult, but you could've probably rented a car for like $200/month or something to get the exact car you want.

The sports package gives you the sport suspension on the e90. It is already included on the e92.

actually... i am going to try the 328xi. if for any reason i am not in love with it my mother is taking it and i am going to just continue to drive my beloved 330 from 2002. my dad has a x5 4.4 that is on lease and as his lease comes to a close 1 yr from now if we wish to pursue a 335 i can get that, my mother will take my 330 and my dad will drive the 328xi. its pretty much a win win.

see my problem is the E90 look hasnt grown on me yet (the facelift 2002 didnt really grow on me until 2 years in, hehe). i feel like i would HAVE to get in 8 months to 1 yr from now the following for 335

1. eurospec headlights
2. blackline tails
3. if there is a side marker i would have to clear that light too or paint it
4. probably blackout kidney grills and window trim
5. lowering springs or coils
6. set of wheels if my 18x8.5 ET35 offset wheels from my 330 dont fit or look nice
7. some new front bumper, sides and rear aero (DTM autohaus m5 style front if they come out with fogs - props to them, their current bumper looks great)
8. some subtle rear deck addition

I'm with many on this thread, I've always felt sport/premium were given packages. Those are needed just to bring a 3 up to the level of any of the Japanese cars, which are still my benchmark. I started looking at BMWs and started to tell myself I'd rather have a stripped BMW than a loaded Toyota, Acura, etc. But when I drove a 325 E90 sedan with no premium and leatherette, I was honest with myself and said I just don't like the comfort level stripped like that.

I agree that sport is worth it for the seats alone (forget about the rim upgrade). With this amount of money, I'd rather wait for the car in exactly the color combo/options I wanted.

But in the end, it's up to the buyer, so if taking from stock, it's important to see what you think, not what people on the forum think....my .02. Good luck!
