Here's the saga of my order--self inflicted. I drive a 2004 Porsche Cayenne S with air suspension and navigation. My wife drives a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 130,000 miles. In August we decided it was time for her to get a new car.
We went to a BMW dealer in late August to look at an X5 for her. On the showroom floor was a 335i. Up until that point we didn't even know the new body style had come out. We took a test drive and were very impressed. Over the years we've owned a 1867 XKE a 1989 Corvette, three Zs (a 240, a 290, and a 300) and a 525i. A week or so after the test drive we went to a couple BMW dealers and test drove again. Finally, we decided to buy one and negotiated a good deal. We ordered a Sparkling Graphite with Navigation, Sports and Premium packages, Cold Weather package, and paddle shifters. Discovered e90post and began reading and posting. Tracked our order on line and got the date the ship with our car would land in NY (Late Oct). Read about how some saw a purple cast in the Sparkling Graphite and went to a dealer and looked at one again in the sunlight. We decided we made the wrong choice. Called the dealer and changed my order. Of course we had to go back to the beginning and place a new order all over again. The new car, Space Grey with all the same options is in route and should dock in New York the first week of December. Hope to have the car NLT Dec 15. Just thought I'd hare this with everyone as I read a lot of crazy things on this site. Include me among those who made a wrong choice. Fortunately, I was able to correct it in time. HAPPY THANKSGIVING
