Should I worry about dealer "drivers" ?
I take delivery of my 335i on Tuesday - my dealer is in Mass but the car we found is in Conn. Should I worry about the dealer's driver picking the car up instead of flat-bedding it or letting me pick up the car ? It bothers me, justified or not, to get a "new" car with 150 miles on it.
btw - Space Grey, Coral Red, 6MT, Premium, Sport, Heated seats.

150 miles IS a lot. My experience is less than 20 miles on the car. I agree to go the flatbed route.

yes, flatbed. i would guess that the car would be driven "hard" for the 150 miles.

I would flatbed personally but I'd use the below method if they refuse to (which is really BS if they refuse)
Or if you can,you go with a buddy in his car and drive the 335 up to the dealer with salesman in car. |

Pick it up yourself or flat-bed it. Take the day off if you have to!

sounds like you are doing a dealer trade. They should be using a flat bed for transport, I am sure they do not want to put on that many miles on a car that is ordered. Because IF for some reason, the "sale" falls through, they would be stuck with a new car that has 150 miles on it!

Just to illuminate further ...
It's a lease car. If I were purchasing it, this issue would be a deal breaker. My guess is that they feel they are already discounting the car $3,000. and they don't want to foot the bill for the flat-bed.

I'm ready to sign a lease on a 335i that they are getting from MA. (Doing deal in NJ). They are telling me that it will alread have some miles on it but they are selling it "new" since it has never been titled.
Since I don't want to wait 8 weeks they are saying that the only cars available are demo cars. |
