I am thinking about painting the antenna fin on the roof matte black. I think it would look good but I would like to hear some opinions first, the cars alpine white. If you think its a go, does anybody know how to get the thing off?

Use a heat gun and heat up the edges around the roof/fin. Take a small prying tool or a butterknife taped so it doesn't scratch up the paint.

Pry from rear of the fin and work your way round.
