Broken aircon - leaking condenser, possible stone damage
At long last the car has been looked at, all gas escaped due to leaking condenser but can't confirm if it is covered by warranty until they remove it in case it is stone damage.
Anyone else experienced 'stone' damage on a car just 6 months old? No other damage to the protective tray or other parts. North of £500 if it comes out of my pocket.

I guess it can happen. . .Although I would say you would have to be pretty damn unlucky.
I would want to see the condensor. Can you have a look at it yourself? You will usually see a damp patch where refrigeration oil is leaking out. If it is visible then it probably is a stone . . .if not, for example if it is at the rear towards the engine, or somewhere where the bumper is in the way. . . .it cannot be a stone and therefore could well be a faulty component - warranty claim. |

Agreed with db. Sounds like dealer bollocks.

If there was other damage and I had noticed some sort of impact then it would be a more acceptable explanation, there does seem to be an element of covering themselves in case they say warranty and it turns out it isn't.
Not sure if I am able to see anymore than they can, frustrating. Thanks

On diesels? The turbo intercooler is in front.

So if the condensor is between the intercooler and the radiator it would be difficult to see how it could be damaged by a flying stone.
