NEW Dual Side Exhaust Conversion
Well this seems to be a popular subject recently!! So I decided to do this conversion because my stock bumper was scratched up in a few spots and I got this new Aero Rear from a fellow member about a month ago. I finally got all the components I need last week and was able to get it into the shop over the weekend.
Things needed: Dual side bumper Muffler (mine is Magnaflow part #11148) Tips (mine are Cyba 4.0in Black Chrome) A good exhaust shop (stainless steel pipe and about 4hrs of labor) So after the install, I was very happy with the outcome. I know it seems like 4 hours might be a long time for labor, but believe me they did a really good job. Like many people have said before, it is very tight under there but still very doable by a good shop. Anyway here are some pics, let me know if you have any questions. And I will try to post up a sound clip within a few days... there is no drone, and just a little deeper during Sound Clip Added!! Last edited by headlee103; 04-27-2010 at 08:07 PM.. |

Nice. Shop near me told me that s.s. was hard to work with (bends and cuts), and instead does it with aluminum.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!!
The shop I was at said they would be able to do it with that, just took some more time. But in the long run would be a better product. |

Very nice! Can't really see in the pic...did you keep your resonator? If so, any plans to delete it or are you happy with the Magnaflow sound?
Again...very nice...and clean! Post up a sound clip if you have time.

Looks good. You're going to confuse allot of people with the 335 rear and a 328 badge. lol Do you think that right pipe is too close to the storage bin in the trunk. Isn't it plastic?

As for the debadging or blacking out the badge, Im not sure what to do yet. I think debadging is the cleanest look, but at the same time Im sure I will get "ohhh he just wishes he had a 335" and I really dont care. Soo what are your thoughts? |

Have you spoken to the dealership if this voids warranty? I called my local dealer and the guy said it would only void exhaust warranty if I ever had issues but I just need that reassurance. |

Nah debadging is very classy.
No reason to advertise what model regardless if its a 323 330 335 etc... In Germany it used to be an option to have a badge on your BMW. Like dealer installed back in the E34 days. |
