JLevi LED rear signals and reverse lights... error codes

A few months ago I installed JLevi's LED bulbs in my front signals while I did the corner delete mod. I liked it so much, I decided to put the bulbs in the rear too in order to get uniform lighting on all corners of my car.

So last week I installed JLevi's LEDs in my taillights to replace the turn signals and my reverse lights. Per JLevi's advice, I only installed resistors for the turn signals because they aren't needed for the reverse lights. They work fine and look awesome, but I still get error codes when I start my car. As soon I use each of the lights (put the car in reverse, signal left/right) the error codes go away. Functionally speaking, the lights work fine, but the codes, even though they go away, are still annoying.

Is there anything I can do to make the error codes go away permanently?

That is normal for the E90s, the car needs to go through one turn signal cycle to recognize the bulb and clear the error.

Sounds you're telling me I just have to deal with it...? Why then on my front signals am I not experiencing the same problem? My front signals (which are also LED) don't register any error codes.

Unfortunately there is no way around it as it has to do with how the car's software checks the bulb. It will happen only on the rear, for some reason it doesn't effect the front turn signals.

Bummer. A necessary evil I guess.

I have Jlevi LED Tail lights and experience the same issue. When I start my car, I just shift in reverse and turn on my hazards to get the code off.

I know, I used to do the same, but now I just ignore it. Wish it would just work like normal, but mods can't always be perfect I guess.

That sucks that they didn't say it would cause an error at start-up. At least they should say that upfront, even if it's not for all vehicles. But then again, they didn't say it was error free anywhere...

You should give the bulbs that Mike@F1 Autohaus has a try. I have them all and they're all error free even without resistors.

My LED Reverse bulbs from JLevi also trigger Bulb Out errors, but mine doesn't go away when I put the car into reverse like the ones above.

sigh...

what a pain in the butt, it is just more chores to do just to get leds in there...definitely not an upgrade if you have to do more steps to get the same result as an oem halogen bulb that you don't have to do squat

Well, it's definitely something to consider when making the purchase, but for me, the halogen look just wouldn't work. I don't like the errors, but I'm willing to put up with it because it's really pretty minor. It's initially really annoying because you want it to be perfect, but after a few days you don't even think about it.

(In case you can't tell, I'm trying not to think about it)
