Question Is it possible?

Okay so this might have been addressed in the past or might not have... Either way I'm a newbie and well my question might be really stupid-- but id really like an answer so here goes nothing! Is it possible to switch all the bulbs in a 07 328xi headlight that has the standard halogen-yellow, no angel eye lights to bright white lights? I recently purchased HID 6000k fog lights and want my headlights to match as best as possible...anyway to do such a conversion with no errors?

Yes.. you can just get brighter bulbs. Won't get brighter by much and won't match the fogs, but better than oem.

I fly in Xi.. lol I like that. You can get briter bulbs, which I seen people do. Or you can do what I did, which is a full conversion from halogen to xenon OEM headlights. It's all about how much you're willing to spend.

Do not plug a HID kit in to your halogen headlight housing. Buy 6000kish halogen bulbs.

Exactly. HIDs were not designed to be use with halogen housings.

But I really like what this guy did with his (check out post #6) what do you think?

Just get brighter blubs, something in the 5000-6000K range. Don't get HIDs because in a halogen housing they will blind people, since the beam will be spread all over the place.

You got your first Bimmer at age 18, good for you man. You must have done something right in your past life. I was driving some serious hoopties at your age.

I know that's the general consensus here but what if I do? besides blinding people which is kind of the point of HIDs anyway...why not? further explaining would be appreciated.

Getting pulled over and ticketed, that's the big deal. Properly installed HIDs do not blind people.

So than its like having tints... risky business but depends on location and the driver. By properly installed HIDs you mean not in a halogen setup, yes?

You mean besides the fact that you blind people and could possibly cause accidents?

Halogen housings have reflectors that disperse light. HID housings use lenses to aim the light towards the ground with a precise cut off that is below oncoming cars line of sight. That way others around you arent blinded by your lights.

You'd have to be a tool to jam some random HID kit on a BMW. You may think it looks cool. Your buddies may say "cool dude". But you look like a d-bag. Everybody who drives you thinks "wow, what an a-hole, thanks for blinding me".

They are not meant to be used together, they are actually illegal to use together, and doing so should be kept to civics and 16yr olds.

The point of OEM HIDs isn't to blind people. It's to have headlights that shine brighter, wider, and farther ahead while NOT blinding people.

BINGO!!!!!

In your case, just get 5000k or 6000k halogen bulbs.

I replaced mine with Philips x-treme power H7..its a lil better than OEM (no where like 80% more as it claims). You get those at Miejer now, $50 a pair.

Also, I have aimed my low beams a tad higher to get long throw down the road but not so high to blind opposite lane.
