A lot of people on here use rain-x but I'm wondering since it's orange if it will leave a residue on my car. I used the bug wash stuff in my other car but I intentionally used it all up because it smelled and left this nasty film all over my car.

What do you guys use? Im still on the factory washer fluid.

i tried this mr clean stuff before which smells pretty good and didn't leave a film but it's bug cleaning ability was crap. Still have winter solution in mine right now so haven't shopped for anything new yet. I was actually thinking of mixing onr + water for my next fill, the smell is pretty neutral and doesn't stain

Simple.....use distilled water with a little dish washing liquid...

Add some rubbing alcohol for winter..

I'd be careful using dishwashing soap...that is a pretty harsh detergent and may strip your clearcoat. I just bought OEM fluid concentrate from tischer. I'm gonna use winter fluid all year long...who cares? I happen to like the smell of the OEM stuff!!!!

The first time I had to refill my washer fluid I just picked up some of the blue stuff at Target like I've always done. Well apparently that clogged up my tank or something like that and the dealer had to basically remove my washer fluid tank clean it out. Dealer said the blue stuff leaves some gunk build up at the bottom that BMWs don't like.

Who would of thought! Now I just let the dealer fill it with their stuff.

Lovely and I would feel like a total idiot going to the dealer just to have them put washer fluid in. From what I've seeing I think I can buy the OEM concentrated stuff from the dealer. Too bad most dealers around here are closed on sunday

Never use dishwashing soap or alcohol on your paint - either on it's own will strip all wax and glazes off the paint - worst idea ever!

The rain-z stuff is pretty good, smells not bad and works well, cutting it with some water will help if you notice residue.

Well luckily (or unfortunately however you want to look at it) I've been to the dealer for service and warranty stuff enough to not have to go just for washer fluid. If I did need some though I'm sure the parts dept will sell you some.

ONR is optimum no rinse, quite alot of people use it during the winter months to clean the car

Don't use dishwashing soap, mess up the mixture and you'll get bubbles all over your windsheild (it's more of a prank) + it's not good for the car, eats up all the wax

It has a lot of methanol in it for low temps but it also seems to clean very well

I bought a 16oz bottle of concentrated washer fluid from the dealer and its the same exact stuff that comes from the factory. costs $4 and you mix it with a gallon of distilled water. Its clear and doesn't stink

I prefer OEM to be honest. w/or w/out antifreeze. It's good stuff.

I use the pink rain x for winter, but it does streak a lot more I notice than the OEM. But since I had that Freeze issue last winter I am scared to try anything watered down...

While I agree that alcohol will strip the wax, have you ever looked into what the OEM stuff is made of? It is almost pure alcohol in its concentrated form. We used to use the stuff as a firestarter when I was a kid. NOTE: DO NOT POUR THE CONCENTRATE ON AN OPEN FIRE, IT IS VERY COMBUSTIBLE.

I like you used up the orange rain x stuff because it left orange spots all over the white paint. I think it also caused problems with my wipers sticking or bouncing when in misty rain. I bought a gallon of the blue stuff from Auto zone. I am hoping that would work ok.

Dude, it's almost pure methanol, what do you expect? The same stuff people spray in their intakes on 335's. Some drag racers use it for fuel, it's got like 120 octane rating. It's also poisonous and tastes horrible.

I wasn't surprised at all, just letting the previous poster know that when he said alcohol was a bad idea that the OEM stuff was just as bad if not worse.

ive always used cheap wiper fluid and never noticed a difference. Now im using motomaster stuff we have here in canada from the local canadian tire (green winter washer fluid + detergent in it).

And i bought some aquapel i need to apply, to get that rain-x effect of beading.
