HELP! my JB3 wont change maps
i installed it last week. no errors. drove around for a week not feeling any difference. then yesterday i got it on a dyno. we did runs on maps 0 and 5 and there was no difference.
I emailed Terry at BMS, who was very helpful but we couldnt solve the problem. he said to check it out using the BT cable but i have no idea what to look for. the guy that ran the dyno checked the instructions and we all double checked and the 4 of us couldnt get it. advice please |

The tuning cable connects to the bottom of the JB3 and your laptop. Lets you datalog and make JB3 adjustments. If you're still confused let their tech support know you are confused. It sounds like you never bought the tuning cable so you'll need that first. It's $35.

Things to check.
1. You do infact have a 335. 2. Pedal mapswitching enabled via cable. 3. ECU Plugs are installed correctly 4. You didnt knock off a vacuum line/cracked one somewhere. 5. Pedal switching being done correctly. When you were on the dyno, what #s did you put down? Might be able to help us some. |

If your hearing a abnormaly loud whoosh from your engine than you probably blew one of your Dv's off (diverter valves). When you first installed the JB did it pull hard then all of a sudden just loose the power ( it could be the dv's). Your supposed to be putting down at least 350 whp on map5 with light supporting mods.

If you had it on the dyno didn't you hook it up to a laptop to datalog? You spent the money on a software program that has the ability to do so, take advantage and see what's going on.

If you have the com to usb cable then you will be fine. Just make sure you run the cable through the firewall. It's so easy to do that I was actually shocked. Once thats hooked up and the JB3 is on then you can switch maps and verify through the JB3 interface.
