335d warranty issues.......

Took the car in a week ago for the boost pressure hose.........

Whilst there i asked about :
poor FM reception........
auto rain sensor not sensitive enough(told them there was a software update.........

their response was :
technician thinks the rear screen is faulty(where the aeriel is built in to)
its a non genuine windscreen and this can affect it

But they ran out of time and i took it back today.............

Now the response is :
You've got non standard bulbs in the car (LED Angels) and that causes bad reception
The auto sensor is built into the screen and if its had a new screen it'll need initialising - £70 + VAT thanks..........

Is this B0LL0CKS and they can't be arsed fixing it or is there any truth in it?

Also i fitted a K&N air filter when i got the car 2000 miles ago......... and they are doing me the service less the cost of the air filter
But they say they can't reset the service light as they've not changed the air filter themselves - not sure whether this is the "whole" service light or just the service mile timer that flashes up for an air filter..........

Again is this bollocks or can i insist they reset the dash light - as its not like i'm asking them to tick the service book to say they've done something they've not.........!

Max

PS. on the boost hose - all the guy could say was that they'd do whatever the PUMA notice said.......... i'll confirm when i get the car in the morning

Not 100% sure but I am pretty confident in saying that others who have had non-OEM bulbs fitted have experienced poor FM reception afterwards too.

I did!!! trying to get some led angel eyes that don't cause the interference.

Easy way to test, if you switch the lights on do you get interference?

Keep us posted on the boost pressure hose, I have the same issue.

The air filter / reset thing is nonsense. Ask them to explain why - it makes no sense at all.

If its had a new screen - why wasn't it set up properly by Autoglass? Did you do it or previous owner? Is it a AUC?

Good call, if it's AUC then this should be working fine. You have not had the glass replaced so it's their problem.

its not AUC, and screen was replaced by a previous owner

its a 2007 car - and the auto wipers were crap when i got it..........

but after my whole CDCanger shenanigans it was given a software update on Autologic by my local Indy garage and it became much better but still not as good as my old E46 330d.............

i can live with it though!

The auto wipers on my 1 series without i drive where better than the ones on my 335d,

The BMW Tech said that on the E90/E92 when the car is first started the processing power of the CPU is reduced to conserve battery drain, until a good charge is coming through to the battery only then the processor works at full capacity. So I do find when I first start my car auto wipers are a joke but after a few mins they work ok (not great but ok).

ibanezking, how did your boost pressure hose go? I'm assuming this is the thinck red pipe thats near the radiator

Just keep the standard bulbs. Yellow looks better than white.

What an F'in day................ they rang me on Tuesday afternoon to say the car was ready and could be collected at 10am Weds

i get there at 10am and he's still working on the car............ at 11.40 its done

I get home and notice to great big swirls on my front alloy - not there before!
And parked on the drive the ride height looks no different - still lopsided

i phone to complain - says he'll call me back..........

He said they'd put me a new boost hose on and steamed the under trays off.

out comes torch and i see the boost hose looks just like its been cleaned and the topside of the undertray is still covered in oil and cack and dirt etc

So off i march back to dealers.........

i point these out to him and also that when they did the free courtesy wash they left all the dead bugs all over the front bumper and bonnet - if you're gonna do a job...........
and........... when they called me to say it was done - why was it when i got there they said they hadn't had time to look at the noisy driver door...........

Oooh we're very sorry sir........... we'll get the technician to recheck it

He brings me out the old boost hose - and said the technician must of had dirty hands when he fitted the new one - hence it looking a bit used........

So it now needs booking in again

A fine advert for Halliwell Jones in Warrington

I agree they do in a Corsa.......... Chav type car

But they look great in the Coupe as they're then the same colour as the Xenon headlights instead of being two different colours...........

Crikey - I didn't think you have this many issues just by using a bit of cheap non-LL04 Halfrauds oil......

PS I said the E90 M3 was cooler than an E92, not better looking.

I've got a Coupé buddy

Sounds like you've had a crappy day mate! Just chuck it back at them and get them to sort it. What did they say about the damaged wheel? Are they going to refurb it for you?

Define "cooler"????

............. and it was top quality oil from ASDA...... not Halfords!

Its the funny swirl marks................ NOT normal kerb marks

in Pic 2 the outer kerb mark the Mrs did about 2 months ago......... its the round swirl that is new........... and also a small rip in the tyre sidewall through the 8 of "ZR18"
